Mumbai-Goa highway nears completion! 84 km stretch between Panvel and Indapur to be complete by December
The controversial Mumbai-Goa highway, specifically the 84-kilometre stretch between Panvel and Indapur, is expected to be completed in full by December-end, The Indian Express reported citing an NHAI official.
As per the official, the whole project is likely to be finished by December this year. Meanwhile, the contractor is keeping the road in good condition, on portions that have been completed to ensure smooth traffic flow. Pre-monsoon works are currently underway, with necessary precautions in place to ensure smooth traffic flow during the upcoming monsoon season.
The Mumbai-Goa highway is 555-kilometre long, out of which 460 kilometres lies in Maharashtra till Patradevi in Sindhudurg district. The NHAI is constructing 84 kilometre of the highway out of the 460 kilometres within Maharashtra and the remaining 376 kilometres has been taken up by the state Public Works Department (PWD).
